Caterwaul

Caterwaul are small feline creatures native to the Faeland Plateau. They are highly intelligent, devious, and fiercely independent.

Description

Measuring no more than one foot tall on average, caterwauls look more like an amalgamation of a cat and a monkey with large bat-like wings. They two pairs of arms ended with small delicate hands with proportionately long fingers, short stubby legs that are atrophied from lack of use, and a three forked prehensile tail; which they use as an additional hand for less precise actions. They have cat-like eyes, ears, and parted upper lips; they lack visible noses, instead having almost indiscernible vertical slits where it would normally be seen. 

They are covered in a thick coat of fur all over their body that range in colors from green, blue, and purple. When enraged, their fur turns a bright red all over which recedes when calm, but leaves behind a slight reddish tint each time which can accumulate over their lifespan.
