Eolas (Tai'ora: "Ice Snake") is a comet, which in the Kudes Era, passed through the sky roughly every 300 years, with its brother figure, Reylas, until it attempted to stop the decadence of Thäl, in Nortadder, by crashing into Atheryin, in an event which sundered the continent, destroying the northern third and creating the Deadmoor.

Discovery

Though Reylas was first observed in Dawn 1, in reality it had been making passings long before then, accompanied by Eolas. The Lyrians had long known of the crater in northern Atheryin, Beral's Caldera, and the ruined comet there, and as Reylas was the only other such object known, the greatest minds of the Lyrian Empire hypothesized that Reylas and Eolas had once travelled together. Magical analyses of the rock in the Caldera and portions of rock which had fallen off Reylas proved this.

Theory of Existence

Common belief notes that the comets Reylas and Eolas were children of Celarus and Lythus, originally with the purpose to dismantle the Kendaeist church. The two parent gods noticed that the faith in the Collective had waned over the years, so much, that they needed something to convince them that the pantheon of gods was still all-powerful, and a force to be reckoned with. Kendaeism was hated among all the Collective's gods, because it was worship of earth-gods who claimed they were more powerful, and were particularly gluttonous  and brutal toward their worshippers.

Fall

Though counselled against his course of action by Reylas, Eolas ignored all of his brother's wisdom. Common myth holds that Eolas decided to through himelf into the wicked city of Thäl, in Nortadder, to destroy their debaucherous society once and for all. However, some Arano legends hold that a mysterious figure, by the name of Dalari, convinced Eolas into his mission.
