Lyrian is a subject-object-verb language. It is also highly agglutinative. The verb and its agglutinations always come at the end of a phrase.

example:

“The king walks across the bridge” would translate as “Aki haikakea rusei’sa”. Directly, without attention to Lyrian syntax, this phrase translates to “king bridge-cross walks-presently”. The affix “kea (to cross, across)” on the object “haika (bridge)” is used to identify the effect of the verb’s action—crossing—but because it relates to the object directly, it is not affixed to the verb. The suffix “sa” on the verb “rusei (to walk)” is a present-tense indicator, identifying that the infinitive “rusei” is occurring in the present. Tense indicators are almost always separated from their root words/phrases by a glottal stop.
