The upgrade of your items is a crucial element of equipping your character. Upgrades increase item damage and enchantments.

Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade button on it. Each recycled item adds a level to the upgrade gauge.

Weapons

When a weapon gets upgraded, it receives a base damage bonus and an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. Some upgrade components have aesthetic effects while others give additional benefits. These upgrades can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets. The majority of them require that the equipment has an upgrade slot available and that it meets certain specifications. Two Blacksmiths are able to perform these upgrades in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the kind of damage weapons deal and Somber Smithing Stones to modify the standard weapons.

Generally, it is advised to improve weapon damage first, then armor defense, and finally the other secondary stats that are required by your build. It is not unusual to see melee Druids upgrade items their weapon before upgrading any other equipment. This helps maximize DPS. Armor

Item Upgrades let players increase the stats base of certain armor pieces, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. Armor can be improved by visiting the Armorer NPC, and spending the appropriate currency. Most armor will upgrade to the next level after an upgrade. This can be done for any type of armor, though some items cannot be upgraded at all (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).

Most armor upgrades provide a small increase to the item's defense or strength. However, some upgrade components can provide significant improvements in defense or strength, particularly when upgrading an epic Best item upgrader item upgrade (stay with me).

In addition to increasing the base defense of an item, some upgrades also provide specific abilities that can be activated while wearing an armor. These abilities can be useful in combat, for instance granting a buff to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades provide passive effects that can be beneficial for example, reducing damage while wearing armor or increasing the chance of avoiding an attack.

Upgrades to armor can require multiple attempts, depending on the type. For instance the case of a player wanting to upgrade the strength of a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale the first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with an initial defense range of 59-67. The second attempt would result in the creation of a Dragonscale armor with an initial defense range of between 67 and 77.

The enchanted Scepter's magic appears to influence the dungeon, increasing its likelihood of producing water and grass. At its current level this trinket makes X% of regular floors become filled with water or grass but it doesn't affect enchantments, symbols, cursed weapons or armor, or other items created to solve hazard rooms.

The item upgrader mod, which appears like eyes of a newt appears to alter your vision in a way that goes beyond simply reducing your field-of-view. At the present time, this trinket can increase the total health gained from drinking potions of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X% and gives you vision on enemies within Y tiles. This is not a stacking feature with Heightened Senses.

After completing the Mastery Cave after completing the Mastery Cave, you can find Trinkets by taking on Monsters and inside chests and crates in Skull Cavern. They cannot be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

If you have a trinket which requires upgrading put it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will have an effect on the trinket that is random and will either increase or strengthen its effects. You can also enhance your Trinkets by placing them in a magical catalyst at the Alchemy Station. It will cost you 6 energy, but will increase the power of the trinkets by a small amount.
