Boosters
With an upgrader for items, you can get a number of bonuses. These could include stats and extra bonuses. These bonuses can be used on armor, weapons and trinkets. They can be used to boost a character's abilities or to add a new element of variety to their build.
The upgrade system in World of Warcraft allows players to upgrade the quality of their gear by spending currency at an item upgrader NPC. This system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was expanded with the introduction of Warlords of Draenor. It's a great way to increase the quality of your equipment, allowing you to avoid the tedious grind of questing and avoid many wipes in Mythic+ dungeons.
When an item is improved, its base type will change. Upgrading a normal item will result in an item that is Exceptional while upgrading an item that is Exceptional will result in an Elite version of the same base item. The item will retain the same stats it had prior to upgrading however, it will also receive an additional bonus from its new base type. This bonus will be randomly chosen from the following: a chance to obtain weapons with a higher damage range or an increased reload speed or a chance to gain a higher max defense roll.
The number of upgrades you perform will determine the amount of extras you will receive. Each upgrade will increase the extras by a maximum of 3 points. Each upgrade will also increase the main stats by +1.
Certain upgrades also give additional random boosts in addition to stat boosts. These boosts are important and should be considered when deciding which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are only useful in specific builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others can provide significant value to specific collectors.
Some items have an inherent boo, which is not effective when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap which gives additional slots for potion. These are often upp'd to inject more value into a perfect or near-perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades come with some associated costs. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it receives, and can be expensive. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a higher level (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).
The second is the price of the materials needed for an upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or a specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. The amount of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
Upgrades to an item are an intricate process that requires time. It could take as long as 8 hours, depending on the size of an upgrade. The stats that are the base of the upgraded item are calculated based upon its new ilvl and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important stats. In certain cases an upgrade may grant additional benefits. These perks are offered on a list.
Rarely, the new perks obtained will cost more than one perk slot; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the highest-cost perks. Occasionally, the upgrader will make other modifications to an item, such as changing the damage type of a weapon or or removing an operative or unwieldy property. The cost of these changes is based on the new ilvl of the item, and it could require a specific material like the adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
The upgrading of an item is dependent on chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it will not succeed. There are several ways to increase your chances of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or adding additional components to your upgrade.
The Upgrade Pity can be purchased through the NPC for smithing in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of an upgrade succeeding by some percentage. It's similar to the "luck bonus" that certain items provide however it is more reliable. It can be added to any armor or weapon, and can be used up to three times.
It is also possible to add a range of additional materials to the upgrade, thereby increasing the chance of success. The materials are displayed in a window above the + button. There are however limitations to this, and the largest amount of material that can be added is shown just above the + button in the UI.
Another method to increase the odds of a successful upgrade is by using an item known as Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is beneficial when you own an Best item upgrade items (https://pattern-wiki.win/wiki/What_Is_Item_Upgrade_And_Why_Are_We_Speakin_About_It) or weapon equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It will let you upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without having to worry about it breaking.
If an upgrade fails it will be returned to its original state. This is typically a break, but it could also be a downgrade. Save an upgrade until you're close to the highest level for an item.
There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding. For instance upgrading an equipment using HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will provide you with a higher chance of success. Also, increasing the chances to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will also increase the success rate.
Failure Rate
The upgrader of an item allows the player to add a second slot in their equipment. These slots can be used to upgrade an item or apply an enchantment. It is important to note that not all items can be upgraded. The rate of upgrade and enchantment is dependent on the rank of the item. The higher the rank, the more Zen and items you will need to upgrade it.
This kind of system can be expensive, especially for high-level gear. Upgrades to armor and weapons can cost as much as 100,000 Z or 100 Carnium. As you progress in rank, the chances of success diminish. You can increase the chance of upgrading an item upgrader kit making use of cash shop items.
Normal Upgrade is the most basic upgrade that can be carried out on weapons, armor pieces and bikes. It uses different grades of core, dependent on the type of item. In general, items with lower grades will require cores of lower quality while items with higher quality will require higher priced ones.
To carry out a normal upgrade it is necessary to first have the proper number of cores. Click the button next to the item you want to upgrade after you have the cores. The upgrade window will display a percent indication of your chance of success. The percentage is based on the upgrade level of the item and the type you have selected.
You can also choose a safeguard that will protect your equipment in the event of failure. This protection is not free however it will cost less than a new item. The safeguard can only be used only once per upgrade and will not expire until it is used again.
The interface for the item upgrader may be a bit difficult to navigate, but it's not impossible to navigate. The main menu is displayed on the left, and the upgrade window is located on the right. The arrows on the left of the UI indicate the different stages during the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to receive help if you are unsure what you're doing. The process of upgrading can take up to five minutes.
