Nightingales

Black birds found only within The Curtained Weir with connections to the entity known as Gentleman Moor, they are more phantoms than actual living animals; feeding on magical energy by possessing their prey until driven to insanity and suicide. Those harbouring a nightingale describe extreme cases of photopobia, depression, a strong compulsion to gouge their eyes out, and eventually suicide.
