Lýsod

From WFU Wiki

Lýsod is a port-city in the very south of the region of Thyros, at several times the capital territory of the peninsula spanning Thyrosic Empire. Lýsod is the southernmost city in the Empire, and is vital to the continued running of the nearby city of Pavrah. During the Brave Era, the city was the largest shipbuilding centre in Thyros, but has been upstaged by Andir in recent years.

Culture

Lýsod's culture is heavily influenced by its period under the control of various Kutai tribes of the Donos region. The city, called Laisos by the Kutai, has retained Donosian influences thanks to the large Kutai native population in the city. It is often referred to by the Thyrids as Kira-Upon-Sea, as they consider it simply a pacified extension of the massive Jungle, however this description, according to the Count of the city, (the later Emperor Henry) was no longer apt by the time of his writing in Red 169. He records that "Lýsod is not the backwater it once was. Ancient Kutai customs are now more tradition than religion, and each day I find the city more and more gentrified". Donos too eventually began to consider the city as another Imperial holding with Donosian flavour. In the opinion of the Serene University of Asgan, the city's conversion was finally completed with the pogroms undertaken against the Kutai during the Second Delasian War between the Thyrosic Empire and a coalition of Donos and Julyr.
