The Apakasi were the Harbinger ancestors of the Lyrians, who existed prior to the Lyrians' Great Awakening. They were described as being incredibly large, nearly twice the size of a regular wolf. According to the Sunchasers, the Apakasi communicated through melodic howls, changing pitch and stress to form phrases.
Like most other Harbingers, the Apakasi were plagued by the Apani in the early Kudes Era. This issue was worsened by the Apakasi's inability to migrate out of the Lyrian Peninsula by land, a strategy that worked decently well for the pre-Taryphos Doltai. Eventually, Lurhasil's witness of the Apakasi's suffering led to his execution of all Apani across Kyros.
