Reylas (Tai'ora: "Fire Snake"), Kehraiaein (Lyrian: "Running Fire Star"), Dóitunn-adáir (Jalqunian: "Fire Father"), Rŏnnún  (Fónnish: "Crawling Star"), Acanua (Aranese: "Ice Brother"), Cthiuru-Bram (Mhenuum: "Sky Render") or simply The Comet, is a comet that passes through Kyros' atmosphere (notably close to the planet as well) every 300 years. It has been used to divide historical periods into Eras, which forms a well-organized timeline. It is considered by most a "brother" to Eolas.

History

First Appearance

Reylas first recorded appearance was in Dawn 1 (LR 1032), prophesized to make an appearance by the Tyrosi Church. Many scholars speculate on the Lyrians' knowledge of such an event, especially given their presence of astronomy-involved machinery. Most come to agree that the Tyrosi Church just had a religious connection with their gods, and that machines such as those could not predict the coming of such a body.

Theory of Existence

Common belief notes that the comets Reylas and Eolas were children of the Earth-god Celarus and Ethereal Lythus, originally with the purpose to dismantle the Kendaeist church. The two parent gods noticed that the faith in the Collective had waned over the years, so much, that they needed something to convince them that the pantheon of gods was still all-powerful, and a force to be reckoned with. Kendaeism was hated among all the Collective's gods, because it was worship of earth-gods who claimed they were more powerful, and were particularly gluttonous  and brutal toward their worshippers.

Eolas' Fall

Reylas, by legend, was known to have attempted to stop Eolas from his suicidal mission, but all Reylas' wisdom was ignored by Eolas' naive disposition. Common myth holds that Eolas decided to through himelf into the wicked city of Thäl, in Nortadder, to destroy their debaucherous society once and for all. However, some Arano legends hold that a mysterious figure, by the name of Dalari, convinced Eolas into his mission.
