Skhela, or Skhel'vuta (Vailic: lit. Water-Horse) is an Earth-God living inside Lake Tälun in western Celadon. He takes the form of a giant aquatic horse with webbed fins on its legs, and a whale-like tail. The Aednun view Skhela as a protector figure, and believe he is representative of their battle against mankind in their perpetual struggle for control over Celadon.
In the Kudes Era, Skhela engaged in a war with Sunakal, a (formerly) dragon-like Earth-God of eastern Celadon. During their conflict, Sunakal flooded Skhela's former homeland of the Ohkorralta and Lake Desaka with sand, and turned the trees to stone. In retaliation, Skhela flattened the mountains of northern Celadon, cornering Sunakal, and tore off his limbs, relegating him to life as a serpent, banishing him to the newly-formed Ohkorra Desert. Skhela then found a new home in Lake Tälun and western Celadon, where he has resided ever since.
